Property & Evidence Questions?
Fentanyl Dangers in Law Enforcement
As Property & Evidence professionals we have a high risk of exposure to Fentanyl, as we process and intake all the drugs that come into our facilities.
How do we mitigate this risk? 1. Work with your department to establish the proper training for packaging evidence, specifically drugs and narcotics. 2. If you don't have an evidence packaging manual, WRITE ONE and ensure it has a right of refusal clause, endorsed by your administration. 3. Ensure your facility and working area has immediate access to NARCAN. 4. If you are a solo Property & Evidence Officer, consider having another employee from your department nearby while you handle narcotics and related evidence. |
